Other information (optional):

Benji is a male Akita X of approx. 2 years old. Benji is on the small side for an Akita.

Benji is a lovely, confident, intelligent dog and loves attention and being patted and stroked and accepts treats politely with no snatching. He knows basic commands including sit, down (flat) and stay. Benji also likes to play ball.

Benji has been in foster care now for a month or so, and he is also having the benefit of a profession walker/behaviourist, and so Benji is thriving with training. and proving himself willing to learn.

Though he is a strong dog he was well behaved and shows interest and enjoyment in his surroundings.

Benji needs an owner that is experienced and is willing to continue to train him and give him sufficient exercise, as Benji is an energetic boy. Benji's lead work is improving but he will need further training in this aspect.

Benji does react to children and other animals with excitment, but he has spent some considerable time in kennels, but with more exposure and socialisation he is improving on this too, but we feel that a home without young children would be best for Benji.

Benji did suffer separation anxiety but this has been worked on in his foster home, and he can now be left with no anxieties and can sleep alone downstairs. Benji is toilet trained and non-destructive.

Benji would love a home of his own, where he will be given a chance to settle and continue to thrive.
